Well, he did it.  Madan that is.  Madan got married.

The astrologer signed off months ago, casting his blessing on this union based on his reading of the celestial sphere. The gods are pleased.

OG Sai started it all a couple of years back, but he went home to India for what felt like 3 years for his nuptials, with about a million of his closest friends in attendance.  You see, the concept of a "plus one" is completely alien - the expectation is that you will bring an entourage with you when you attend the wedding.  If you think planning a 100-person wedding in the USA is stressful, try planning one where the guest list rivals the population of a small town, and each of them has an opinion about the flowers. I don't know this for a fact, but I'm willing to bet that wedding planners in India have their own support groups in which they look at wedding photos like war veterans revisiting old battles.

Madan did it here, in Frederick, Maryland, on a Thursday night, with all the pomp and circumstance that attaches to an Indian wedding.

I'll have to ask permission to share a screenshot of the wedding video in a future post so you can see the splendor, but suffice it to say that Madan and his bride, Kanaka Mahalakshmi, looked magnificent in their wedding attire. We extend our heartiest congratulations.

That leaves one holdout amongst our subject threesome, and you know who you are (Manoj).  Manoj protests that he is too young yet, but we're not buying it.

As for the newly wed Madan, we expect great things.  Marriage has a way of focusing a young man, and we have plenty of things on which he can focus.

Now the race to fatherhood starts between Madan and OG Sai. I cannot claim any special knowledge of either's plans, but I do know that prospective grandparents the world over have ways of applying pressure, sometimes subtly, sometimes overtly, urging the young couples to get on with it.  At Pendant, we're expecting a steady stream of future software developers as a sort of "farm team" to sustain and build this great business well into the future, leading to future blog posts series titled "Thirteen Sais and 8 Madans" or something like that.

Congratulations on this new phase in your life, Madan. We wish you and your new bride many happy years together.
